About the Event

Tacoma Refugee Choir is filming a music video and YOU are invited to be a part of it! All are welcome! Come and join us in representing the Tacoma community in a fun film shoot for TRC's original piece: "Moon Song." Where: Lincoln District Lanterns on S Yakima Avenue between S 38th St and S 39th St.When: Tuesday, November 14 at 6:00pm You will have the opportunity to learn and perform some movement and singing elements, but NO performance experience is necessary! All you need to do is come dressed for the weather and be willing to be captured on film.  About "Moon Song" The lyrics for “Moon Song” were written by Tacoma poet laureate Abby E. Murray after doing a poetry workshop in the Selma Carson Home which houses detained Central American teenage boys. This song has become particularly meaningful to choir members—and a unique celebration of the spirit and diversity of our community. "Moon Song" will join TRC's previous music video project "Everyone Can Love Someone" as a messages of hope for the world from the people of Tacoma.

This project was made possible through community arts funding from Tacoma Arts Commission
