The Heart of Tacoma Festival is a new interactive festival centered on bringing people together. Building upon the success of last year's sold-out Drive-In Concert, Tacoma Refugee Choir in partnership with Greentrike, and Tacoma Arts Live and other partners, will feature music, dance and activities including a showcase of students from local schools and an interactive performance by Tacoma Refugee Choir. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in African dance, learn a Ukrainian song, sing along with a Latin band, learn a Hawaiian dance, sing karaoke, and play games. Additional activities will include over 30 vendors, food trucks, and children’s activities. The event will open with a beautiful song and story from the Tahoma Indian Center and attendees can take pictures in their 38-foot canoe or walk with the 10-foot Heart of Tacoma mobile sculpture created by artist Steve LaBerge.
